Arsenal news: Gunners sign Porto midfielder Fabio Vieira for £34m
Porto confirmed on Friday morning that midfielder Fabio Vieira will sign with Arsenal this summer for £34million, making the 22-year-old the Gunners' third arrival in the transfer window.
Arsenal have pounced early on in the transfer window to acquire midfield target Fabio Vieira from Porto, with the 22-year-old moving to north London for £34million.
Mikel Arteta continues to build for the long-term, with Vieira joining Brazilian striker Marquinhos as Arsenal's new arrivals this summer.
Much like Marquinhos, Vieira is a player with plenty of potential, having shone for Porto in the Primera Liga this season.

Vieira is very much a creative outlet in the heart of midfield, with the uncapped Portuguese player topping the assist charts in Portugal with 14 in the 2021/22 season.
Provided he passes his medical with the Gunners, Vieira will join Arsenal's ranks ahead of the club's pre-season tour in the United States.
Porto announced the signing on Friday morning via the following statement:
"The club informs the market that it has reached an agreement with Arsenal FC for the signing, on a permanent basis, of Fabio Vieira for the amount of 40million Euros."

Vieira leaves Porto having made 54 appearances for the club, during which he scored eight goals.
He has also been a part of the league-winning side in 2019/20 and 2021/22, while he also boasts a Taca de Portugal medal having won the tournament last season.
Arsenal are yet to confirm the signing via their own social media, although an announcement is expected over the weekend.
