JOHN JOSEPH (1) won when resuming at Hanging Rock then finished second last time out over 6f at Moonee Valley, beaten 1.5 lengths. Improvement in store so he looks the testing material. EUGENIUS (6) returned from a lay-off two-and-a-half weeks ago when he was beaten 3.5 lengths into fourth over 6f at Pakenham. Strips fitter and can go on to take this out. ELOPED (12) missed the placings two runs back then didn't feature last start when 11 lengths away in 12th over 1m at Pakenham after being prominent at the bend. Likely improver with strong prospects. APRES LA MER (4) made progress last time out, finishing 4 lengths from the winner in third over 6f at Moonee Valley. Looks to be in the right race so expect another big run.
