GANDALF (10) crossed from an outside draw last time to stalk the lead before drawing clear to win by 1.4 lengths over 5½f at Hawkesbury. Will push forward and is among the chances again. BOTANICA (1) was out of the money when resuming from a lay-off last start over 6¼f at Canterbury, beaten 3.5 lengths. Fitter this time will prove harder to beat.
