Multiple Grade 3 winner NELSON (5) was unplaced on the flat two starts back then turned in a better effort last start when he finished seventh in another flat race at Caulfield over 1m4f, beaten 13 lengths. Will take stopping back over the jumps. MIGHTY OASIS (2) opened the campaign with a solid second on the flat at Great Western then last start stayed on the flat over 1m1 3/4f at Yarra Valley and finished eighth, beaten 4.5 lengths. Genuine jumper with three wins from 16 starts over the obstacles. Likely to be about the money. RUDIMENTAL (7) is looking to improve on a last-start ninth on the flat over 1m5 1/2f at Werribee on February 18. Will be hard to beat. INSTIGATOR (3) is looking to improve on a last-start sixth on the flat over 1m3f at Ararat on February 11. One of the leading contenders.
