SUNBURNT (3) showed good early dash and raced on the speed last start before fading to finish 5 lengths back in fourth over 6f at Terang. Will be on the speed in transit and is expected to take some running down. VERBOSITY (1) missed the placings two runs back then improved last start but found one better over 6½f at Stawell, beaten only 1.3 lengths after being in contention on the turn. Likely improver with strong prospects. VIA CAPO (5) was always well out of his ground when 6 lengths from the winner in tenth over 7f at Mt Gambier last start, a less impressive effort than his ninth at Werribee the run before. Meets a stronger field but he is capable of running a bold race. PRINCE SONIC (2) showed early speed from a good draw when returning from a break last time and battled on to finish fifth, beaten 5 lengths, over 5½f at Ararat. Solid top-three prospects.
