VULCANITE (1) is back from a lay-off after closing last campaign with a couple of wins, the latest over 1m at Vaal on October 3. Drawn to go forward. Best figures should see her run well. SALENIO PENINSULA (4) progressed nicely last time out to finish just 0.7 lengths from the winner in second over 7¼f at Vaal. Meeting a tougher field but on her best form she is right in contention. MISS LIA (3) scored at her most recent appearance, getting home by 0.7 lengths over 7¼f at Vaal. That continued the very strong form this campaign, with two wins from three runs. Can feature again. TOO LATE MY MATE (8) is back from a lay-off of eight months. Closed last prep with a fourth, beaten 4.5 lengths, over 1m at this track. Sure to be competitive.
