LONJOURNO (7) is a five-year-old gelding who is having his first run for the Jack Bruce barn. Resumes after finishing sixth at Cranbourne at his last run eight months ago. Hasn't trialled publicly but is in a nice race. Can make an immediate impact. DESERT COUGAR (10) ran below expectations last time at Murwillumbah, finishing fifth and beaten 9 lengths starting at 11/4. Finds an easier assignment and can turn things around. LIKE SMOKE (6) was in the money two starts back at Rockhampton then missed the frame but was not too far away last time over 6f at this track. Solid top-three chance. ZEPHALONG (8) was unplaced two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 6f at Kilcoy, beaten 12 lengths into sixth. Finds a nice race and can atone.
