HEART AND SPIRIT (5) recorded her first win last start over 6f at this track, getting home by 1.5 lengths. Is lightly raced and has plenty of scope for improvement. No reason she cannot get the job done again. DEFIANT BOOM (1) was not disgraced in city class last time when fourth at Doomben but back to home course this time. Will appreciate a drop in grade. Leading contender. ESTRONDO (2) returned from a break last start with a mediocre fifth over 6f at Doomben after settling well back. Ideally placed and is sure to give this a mighty shake. EAGLE'S FIRE (4) returned from a lay-off eight days ago when he was in the firing line on the bend before being beaten 2.5 lengths into fourth over 5f at Gold Coast. Fitter and sure to run well.
