SHINY NEW DEEL (2) was out of the money when resuming two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 7½f at Caulfield Heath, beaten 2.2.5 lengths into fifth. This is a nice drop in grade so he is one of the main contenders. SETTAT (6) progressed nicely last time out to finish just a head from the winner in third over 7f131yards at Geelong. Likely improver with strong prospects. SAINT LAZARE (1) finished 2.5 lengths away in sixth last time out over 7½f at Caulfield Heath two-and-a-half weeks ago. Tackles a longer journey this time. Will find this easier. Well placed and should be in the finish. GINGER Set Weights EET (9) was in the firing line on the corner and finished third last start at the first run back from a lay-off over 7½f at Caulfield Heath, beaten 1.5 lengths. Perfectly placed and is sure to take a ton of beating.
