Set Weights EET MARLENE (6) fought on well to finish second last start over 5f at Coffs Harbour, beaten a neck when fresh from a lay-off. Finds a tougher race but a big run is on the cards. MAGIC SHANNON (11) is a locally trained mare who produced a good effort when narrowly defeated last time at Taree over 6½f. Should be in the finish again. ESCALANTE (2) settled towards the tail then wound up strongly to finish 2.5 lengths away in second when resuming last start over 5½f at Scone. Tough to stop again. HELL OF A FOX (10) returns after four months in the paddock. Closed the last campaign with a fifth over 6½f at Scone. Looks up to the mark following a trial win at Newcastle. Has ability and must be included in calculations.
