SPIRIT'S UNITE (9) hasn't been far away recently including last time out when second over 7f at this track. Has a decent record at this trip with four minor placings from six tries and is a key runner. LIKETHECLAPPERS (3) started at 8/1 last time and ran below expectations, finishing 12th and beaten 10 lengths at this track over 7f. Meets some better types this time but he has the ability to test this field. VERONIQUE (1) finds it hard to win but left a good impression last time out when beaten 0.8 lengths into second over 7f at Durbanville. Likely to go forward from a nice draw. Will give backers a great sight. GOLD INDEX (11) turned in a fine effort to score by 0.8 lengths at this course and distance last start in a much improved run. Well placed and there is no reason he cannot repeat the dose.
