ABUSE OF POWER (4) is close to breaking through after two consecutive placings, the latest coming when second over 6½f at Hawkesbury after being prominent from the outset. Well placed this line-up and there is no reason he cannot find winning ways. JACK OF ACES (1) finished fourth when resuming two runs back then did a good job last start but found a couple better over 6½f at Tuncurry, beaten only 1.1 lengths. Goes up a rung or two but he is up to the task. INVADE AND CONQUER (3) was in contention on the bend and finished third last start over 6¼f at Canterbury, beaten 3 lengths. Ideally placed and is sure to be there at the finish. ALACRITY (7) is a two-start maiden who returned last time and finished fourth at this track over 7f, beaten 3.5 lengths. Backmarker who gets home hard. Can feature in the finish.
