METAVERSE (3) went forward and gave a great sight before finishing second last time out over 1m2 1/2f at Launceston. Meeting a deeper field this time but he cannot be underestimated. ALWAYS A WINNER (9) raced on the speed and kept going to score by 3.5 lengths last time out over 1m2 1/2f at Launceston. Finds a tougher race but another big run will not surprise. PENNINE (4) is a distance specialist who finished out of the money two starts back then was beaten 5.5 lengths when fifth over 1m2 1/2f at Launceston two-and-a-half weeks ago. This looks a sterner test than last time but on his best form he is one of the chief contenders. DANTES (6) is struggling to break through but hasn't been far away, the latest effort a fourth beaten one length over 1m at this track. Generally goes well here. Among the top-three hopes.
