RANGATOO (9) faced the starter for the first time and finished fifth last start at Werribee over 7f, beaten 8 lengths. Fitter and with the blinkers added is expected to be in the finish. MARLIN (3) finished fourth two runs back then improved last start but found a couple better over 1m1 3/4f at Yarra Valley, beaten 5 lengths. Finds a more suitable contest and can take the next step and salute. CLASSIC STORY (1) is a 31-start maiden who could only manage to finish fifth after being prominent at the bend at his latest appearance over 1m at Moe. Finds the right race and is worth consideration. SERGEANT MAVERS (4) was beaten 2.25 lengths into sixth in a 1m2 1/4f contest at Cranbourne two-and-a-half weeks ago. Suitably placed so can turn things around.
