PURPLE OPERATOR (3) lines up for the first time since January 3. Started the last campaign in good style when in the placings over 6f at this track. One of the genuine hopes in the race. GOLDEN ASPEN (5) switches to synthetic for the first time. Finished in the money two runs back and followed that with an unplaced effort, beaten 5.5 lengths, over 5¾f on turf at Turffontein Standside. Sure to be thereabouts. BIG SLICK (6) hasn't been able to break through for an extended period, the latest effort a fourth over 6f at this track. Has a good record at this course and distance, including a win and two minor placings. Meets a stronger field but he is good enough to turn things around. PHAKA IMALI (8) finished fifth two runs back then did well last start but found a couple better over 6f at this track, beaten only 1.5 lengths. Has his share of talent. Hard to beat in this suitable race.
