EX MACHINA (6) is very fit after three runs back from a lay-off, the latest a second over 1m1 1/2f at Kyneton. Has the pace to settle in the leading division. Among the leading chances. PURE POWER (8) has been thereabouts, most recently when a nose from the winner in second over 1m1 3/4f at Yarra Valley. Over the longer journey he looks tough to beat. MICK DUNDEEL (7) finished 7 lengths away in fifth last time out over 1m1 3/4f at Yarra Valley after being in the firing line on the bend two-and-a-half weeks ago as 2/1 favourite. Tackles a longer journey this time. Should be poised just off the lead. Should be involved in the finish. THANKS EMMELINE (11) ran below expectations last start, finishing fifth and beaten 4 lengths at Stony Creek over 1m2 1/2f. Looks well placed so expect a better run this time.
