Group 3 placegetter COUNTEROFFENSIVE (2) resumed from a lay-off last start with a sound third over 5f in the G3 Chairman's Stakes at Caulfield after being in the firing line on the bend. Nicely placed to play a major role. WOLFGANG (1) had been in sparkling form winning two races on end but missed the frame most recently when 15th over 6f in the LR Magic Millions 2yo Classic at Gold Coast. Should be in the finish. PRO FORMA (4) wasted no time getting off the mark as favourite on debut over 5f at Canberra three weeks ago. Will come on following that run definite threat. AARDVARK (3) made debut four months ago in the LR Debutante Stakes at Caulfield when finished in the placings and hasn't raced since. Sure to be improved by a trial and can sneak into the finish again.
