MORNINGTON PIER (5) turned in a eye-catching run when resuming last start over 7f at Bendigo, winding up hard from well back on straightening to finish a close second. Strong effort last time and is worth following up. THE MARG FACTOR (11) raced in town last time and missed the frame, finishing seventh at Moonee Valley and beaten 2.25 lengths. Drawn to enjoy a good run on the speed. Likely to feature. GREY NORTHERN (10) returned from a lay-off three weeks ago when she was beaten 3.5 lengths into seventh over 7f at Bendigo. Fitter so expect a better run this time. STATUARIO (13) broke his maiden last start over 7f at this track, scoring by half a length. Sparingly raced and has more to offer. Re-unites with Damian Lane who was on board last start. Tougher task this time but expected to be competitive again.
