SHAHIN (8) ran a better race last start to finish a close second over 6f at Drouin after missing the placings at the previous appearance. Finds a tougher race but another big run will not surprise. SPINHOF (2) was ridden quietly then made some inroads and finished 4.5 lengths away in fourth last time out over 5½f at Kyneton three weeks ago. Steps up in journey. Will find this a little easier than last time. Best form puts him right in this. PRELIMINAIRES (4) was in the money two starts back at Balnarring but was unable to repeat the effort last time when eighth, beaten 12 lengths, at Penshurst over 7f82yards. Suitably placed so anticipating a big run this time. CITY ESCAPE (10) was out of the money two runs back when fresh from a lay-off then again missed the frame last start over 5½f at Stawell, beaten 4 lengths into seventh. No surprise to see him in the frame.
