UNDERSTUDY (10) finished 0.8 lengths from the winner in second on debut over 7f at Tauranga on January 2 and has not appeared since. Fitter for a fifth in a trial over 5f at Cranbourne. Will be better for that experience so he should be in the finish again. AUTUMN SLIDE (12) resumes from a lay-off of ten months. Looked close to a win before that break, finishing off with a minor placing over 7f at this track. Good chance to break through. STUPENDOUS (13) has not appeared since she finished second over 7½f at Mornington on January 21. Comes here with definite top-three claims. WHISKEY CREED (11) finished second at Ballarat Synthetic two runs back but was less effective last time over 7f at Ballarat, finishing 7 lengths back in ninth. Likely improver with top-three prospects.
