THE LIONS' GATE (1) doesn't win out of turn but ran a nice race when resuming from a lay-off last time out over 6f at Murwillumbah, finishing third and beaten 2 lengths after being prominent at the corner. Suitably placed so anticipating a big run this time. BRAVE INSTINCTION (11) booted up from the inside draw to race on the speed only to be claimed late and finish 4.5 lengths away in fifth last start over 6½f at Coffs Harbour. Will go forward and is expected to be in the finish. COOL MAN (3) wasted no time getting off the mark as favourite on debut over 5f at Murwillumbah three weeks ago. Will come on following that run definite threat. BOULANGER (9) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 7f38yards at Grafton, beaten 4.5 lengths into fifth. Better than recent efforts suggest.
