Wimbledon men's singles: Jannik Sinner vs Matteo Berrettini

The countrymen have only met once in competition but should be very familiar with one another having trained together often.

Sinner has won the only head-to-head match between the two players.

The younger man has risen sharply during a time when Berrettini has been plagued by injuries.

Sinner has surpassed his compatriot but Berrettini is a dangerous player on grass.

Wimbledon men's singles: Carlos Alcaraz vs Aleksandar Vukic

Carlos Alcaraz is set for a second career meeting with Aleksandar Vukic as he continues his title defence.

Alcaraz has won the only previous meeting between the players but it has been four years since that clash.

The French Open winner breezed through the first round with a straight-sets win over Mark Lajal.

Alcaraz wasn't overly aggressive in that opening win on his serve but still blasted ample winners to close off points quickly.

Wimbledon men's singles: Stan Wawrinka vs Gael Monfils

Stan Wawrinka and Gael Monfils renew their rivalry with an eighth head-to-head match.

This will be the first time the two veterans clash on grass and meet at Wimbledon.

Wawrinka has won both of their previous Grand Slam clashes and leads 4-3 in their overall head-to-head.

Monfils probably has the edge in terms of current game on grass and he had a much tougher first-round opponent.

Wimbledon men's singles: Tommy Paul vs Otto Virtanen

We are set to see a big American challenge at Wimbledon this year and one of those aiming for the big prize is Tommy Paul.

Paul sounded a warning shot when he swept to the title at Queen's during the lead-in to Wimbledon.

This will be his first meeting with Austrian world No 147 Virtanen who is playing just his 26th match on grass.

Paul should have all the tools to outdo the Austrian and book passage into the third round of the Grand Slam.

Wimbledon women's singles: Naomi Osaka vs Emma Navarro

Naomi Osaka has rising American star Emma Navarro in her path at Wimbledon with the No 19 seed set to enjoy her first match on Centre Court.

Navarro has been having a great season through the 2024 campaign and will test the apparent resurgence of Osaka.

Navarro enjoyed a run to the semi-finals in Bad Homburg but her 4-2 record on grass this term is only just superior to Osaka's 3-2 return.

This contest should be very tight and we expect that this one will go into three sets.

Wimbledon women's singles: Emma Raducanu vs Elise Mertens

Emma Raducanu might have got a little lucky with a late withdrawal that saw her face a very different quality of opponent in the first round from what was expected.

That has also opened up the draw for the Brit but she faces a tough examination from Elise Mertens to get through the second round.

This will be the first-ever meeting between these two players who are separated by 102 rankings places.

Raducanu may give up a lot on the rankings but her grass court form suggests she should be the favourite here.

Wimbledon women's singles: Daria Kasatkina vs Yuriko Lily Miyazaki

Eastbourne champion Daria Kasatkina might well fancy her chances of a maiden Grand Slam win at Wimbledon.

Kasatkina has shown that she can match the best in the world on grass but needs to avoid a second-round upset.

Miyazaki might have the home crowd behind her but besting a form player like Kasatkina will require more than a few chants.

Kasatkina could be the outsider who upsets expectations at Wimbledon this season.

Wimbledon women's singles: Yafan Wang vs Madison Keys

Madison Keys is another American with aspirations of a deep run at the All England club.

Keys and Yafan have met before but that clash took place almost six years ago with the former coming out on top in Wuhan.

After disappointment at the French Open, Keys will want to give a good account of herself at Wimbledon.

Yafan has never moved beyond the second round at Wimbledon and a win would give her a career-best performance.
