Sheffield Utd vs Man Utd tips and predictions: Red Devils to prevail in battle of the desperates

Manchester United's Erik ten Hag

Planet Sport Bet ambassador Robbie Savage has not been impressed with Manchester United in recent weeks, though he expects the Red Devils to come good at Bramall Lane.

Scott McTominay, two late goals against Brentford. How big were those two goals for Erik ten Hag and Manchester United. This is another difficult game.

They’ve scored in their last 10 Premier League games against Sheffield United and I think they’ll go to Bramall Lane and get a goal.

Look at Hojlund. He’s done very well for Manchester United. Rashford with a goal for England in midweek. They’ve got the firepower undoubtedly.

I think they’ll score, the big question is can they keep Sheffield United out. The answer to that is no.

But I think Man United, with the firepower, will win the game 2-1.

Robbie’s Tip: Sheffield United 1-2 Manchester United

Team news

Paul Heckingbottom’s side are not only out-of-form but are also low on personnel ahead of Saturday’s match.

George Baldock, Chris Basham, John Egan, Daniel Jebbinson, Max Lowe, Rhys Norrington-Davies, Ben Osborn and Will Osula are all out of action. Tom Davies could join that list come Saturday.

United, on the other hand, will be missing Amad Traore, Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez and Jadon Sancho.

Casemiro will also be out after sustaining a “small issue” while playing for Brazil.

There are also question marks over the availability of Sofyan Amrabat, Sergio Reguilon, Luke Shaw, Raphael Varane and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Other bets suggested by Planet Sport

Manchester United have endured a miserable season but their troubles are nothing compared to Sheffield United’s.

The south Yorkshire outfit are bottom of the table with one point to their name from eight matches.

Paul Heckingbottom’s men are in the midst of a four-match losing run during which they have conceded 15 goals and scored just two.

Is there anything positive we can say about Sheffield? Thankfully, yes.

The Blades won the last head-to-head meeting with Man United, beating the Red Devils 2-1 at Old Trafford back in January 2021.

What’s more, Bramall Lane has never been an easy venue for Erik ten Hag’s side.

United have won two of their last three visits to the ground, however both wins came by one goal.

The Red Devils are far from their best form and another tight encounter could be on the cards against this desperate Sheffield outfit.

One goal winning margin is our tip ahead of the match. Man United to win and both teams to score is another bet to keep an eye on.
