Tottenham vs Liverpool tips and predictions: Nothing to seperate unbeaten sides

Son Heung-Min celebrates

Planet Sport Bet's Robbie Savage thinks Tottenham and Liverpool can preserve their unbeaten Premier League records on Saturday.

It’s the game of the weekend and I’m really looking forward to it.

Liverpool have got a great record against Spurs, I don’t think they’ve been beaten since 2017.

This is going to be a tight game. The North London derby ended in a 2-2 draw and this would not surprise me if this game is a draw too.

Looking at goalscorers, Son's got four in five against Liverpool, and Salah’s got 8 in 13 against Spurs.

I'm gonna go for a 2-2 draw with Son and Salah on the score sheet.

Robbie’s tip: Tottenham 2-2 Liverpool

Tottenham vs Liverpool team news

Ivan Perisic is set to miss the remainder of the season due to an ACL injury, while Rodrigo Bentancur, Ryan Sessegnon and Bryan Gil will return in late October.

Ange Postecoglou is sweating on the fitness of James Maddison and Brennan Johnson but early indications are positive with the pair featuring in training.

Tottenham’s top scorer Son Heung-Min is already forming a deadly partnership with Maddison and should start alongside Dejan Kulusevski and Manor Solomon in attack.

Thiago Alcantara is Liverpool’s only confirmed absentee at this point while Trent Alexander-Arnold could be fit enough for a place on the bench.

Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez are sure to start in attack but Diogo Jota could replace Luis Diaz given his goalscoring form for club and country.

Key stats

- Liverpool are the only Premier League team yet to lose at Tottenham’s new stadium
- The Reds are unbeaten in their previous 17 Premier League matches
- For the second season in a row, Spurs are unbeaten in their opening six matches

Planet Sport’s other bets to consider

Tottenham remain unbeaten inside 90 minutes but their Carabao Cup second-round exit means they’ve enjoyed an extended rest since drawing 2-2 with Arsenal.

Liverpool were dominant in their 3-1 win over Leicester but had to wait until the dying minutes to put the game to bed as Jurgen Klopp made 10 changes to his side.

The win extended Liverpool’s unbeaten start to the season to eight matches and provided Jurgen Klopp with a fifth 3-1 win of the season so far.

It’s noteworthy that not only are Liverpool unbeaten in 17 Premier League matches, they’re also the only top-flight team yet to lose at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

It’s true that records are there to be broken, but it’s tough to bet against Liverpool given their goalscoring form and the confidence they’re playing with.

The fearsome attacking quartet of Salah, Nunez, Diaz and Jota have found the net 13 times so far this season so it’ll take some effort to keep them quiet.

There’s little in the numbers to separate but there’s plenty of evidence that we’ll get an abundance of chances and hopefully goals.
