National League preview and suggested bets: Wrexham and Notts County continue titanic title tussle
The National League promotion race continues on Saturday as Wrexham visit Barnet and Nott County play host to Woking with all four sides dreaming of League Two football.
The titanic tussle between AFC Wrexham and Notts County is, without doubt, the best you'll ever see at this level, and it's opened people's eyes to the farcical nature of trying to escape the fifth tier.
Here, we take a closer look at the latest instalment of this epic promotion race.
Suggested betting tips
Barnet vs Wrexham
Saturday, April 15, 12:45pm kick-off
There's just a handful of games left in the season and the Red Dragons and the Magpies are set to smash a number of National League records. Despite that, only one of them will achieve automatic promotion.
Wrexham's slip-up at Halifax on Good Friday opened the door for Notts County to move top of the table, but their stay was short-lived as the Welsh side snatched victory in their Easter Monday showdown.
A back-and-forth affair saw Phil Parkinson's men fall behind but by the 69th minute they had taken the lead and chaos ensued shortly after.
Kyle Cameron equalised in the 75th minute, only for Elliot Lee to restore Wrexham's lead three minutes later, and it was all capped off by Ben Foster's stunning penalty stop in the 97th minute.
The result leaves Wrexham three points clear at the top and with a game in hand to boot.
Barnet have suffered a dip in form lately, failing to win any of their last five matches. Despite that, The Hive hasn't been a happy hunting ground for away teams this season.
The Bees are unbeaten in 15 of their 20 matches at home and they've won the majority of those.
It's worth noting that Wrexham have failed to win nine of their 21 away matches and have slipped up at Chesterfield, County and Boreham Wood, three sides who occupy a playoff place alongside Barnet.
A draw would not be a disaster for Wrexham as it would keep them on top of the table ahead of their crucial game in hand.
Notts County vs Woking
Saturday, April 15, 5:30pm kick-off
Notts County can reach a total of 109 points if they were to win their three remaining games, but chances are it still wouldn't secure them automatic promotion.
Woking are 24 points behind County in third place and a gap of 13 points to Bromley in eighth means they've secured their playoff place, but there's still a home advantage to secure.
The Cards have been a force on their travels this season and have picked up at least a point against four of their fellow top-seven sides, including a 2-2 draw at Wrexham.
It would take an incredibly brave person to predict Woking leaving Meadow Lane with a positive result, but it wouldn't be a shock to see them contribute to the scoreline.
County's last seven matches have featured at least three goals with the away side scoring in four of those contests.
