Luton vs Brentford tips and predictions: Hatters to pick up vital win

Luton Town have been a brilliant addition to the Premier League this season, with their never say die attitude being key to their chances of making sure that this is not just a flash in the pan. 

Many people wrote the Hatters off at the start of the season, but some brilliant management by Rob Edwards along with a bit of luck in the form of points deductions for Everton and Nottingham Forest has given them a real chance of staying in the top flight. 

This is a key fixture for Luton, as Brentford have been poor this season, with their win last time out against Sheffield United ending a nine game winless run. 

However, the Blades have been absolutely woeful this term and Thomas Frank's side will need to up their game to give them a chance of coming away from Kenilworth Road with three points. 

Luton won their last home match against Bournemouth and will need Carlton Morris to be on top form, the Hatters' captain has scored nine times this season with six of them coming since the turn of the year and he'll be determined to drag his team to safety. 

Bees striker Ivan Toney hasn't shown his best form since returning from his gambling suspension, scoring just four goals in 13 appearances and he's on a barren run with no goal in his last eight appearances. 

Nevertheless, the Bees have welcomed back Bryan Mbeumo and since he returned they've lost just one of five games and they've scored five in their last two.

Luton have been poor at the back, conceding 70 goals this season, but have scored goals, with their tally of 46 being just one fewer than Manchester United, so both teams to score looks a good bet here.

Brentford have won just three times on the road all season and two of them came , but have a good record against Edwards' men, winning six of their last seven meetings.

Despite the Bees' good record against their hosts, we think that home advantage may give Luton the edge, so a narrow Luton win with plenty of goals is the way to go.

Tom Lockyer, Jacob Brown, Marvelous Nakamba, Dan Potts, Amari'i Bell, Elijah Adebayo, Chiedozie Ogbene, Mads Andersen and Gabriel Osho are all ruled out for Luton.

Teden Mengi and Albert Sambi Lokonga are doubts for the hosts.

Brentford will be without Josh Dasilva, Aaron Hickey, Rico Henry and Ben Mee.

Kristoffer Ajer and Christian Norgaard are doubts for this game.
