Euro 2024: France vs Poland tips and predictions – Les Bleus to send Poles packing with a whimper

Antoine Griezmann of France

France continue their European Championship bid this Tuesday when they take on Poland in Dortmund in their final group game (1700 BST).

The Poles tend to be efficient. If you’ve ever had a Polish plumber or builder round your house, you can always expect the job to be done quickly, efficiently and on the cheap.

Problem is, the Poles took their efficient nature in the Euros. They were the last team to qualify for the tournament and also the first to depart. That’s Usain Bolt level of fast.

Back-to-back defeats against the Netherlands and Austria mean that Michal Probierz won’t be able to use his full collection of suits.

It may also spell good news for France, with the Poles unlikely to throw life and death levels of commitment into this fixture.

The French could certainly do with a convincing win to restore some momentum. Didier Deschamps’ side kicked off the tournament with a conservative 1-0 win over Austria and they backed it up with a goalless draw against the Dutch.

A big two or three goal victory against Poland would do wonders for confidence levels as the French look to forge their way towards another major title.

Kylian Mbappe is the obvious doubt, and if he does feature, he will be in a mask.

Whether the new Real Madrid signing takes part in the match or not, we still expect the World Cup runners-up to put on a clinic.

Antoine Griezmann has scored 44 goals in 131 appearances for Les Bleus and was a busy man in the encounter with the Netherlands.

We’re backing the Atletico Madrid star to find the back of the net and add to his haul of international goals.

Elsewhere, France to win in the handicap market also makes sense. Both teams to score is also worth pondering considering the Poles scored in their first two games.

Team news

There’s good news for France as Kylian Mbappe could make his return after breaking his nose during the match with Austria.

Poland, meanwhile, have concerns over Bartosz Salamon, while Robert Lewandowski is expected to feature.
