Rasmus Hojlund is a Danish international striker who plays his domestic club football at Manchester United in the Premier League.
Despite only making his first-team debut for FC Copenhagen in 2020, he has already played is the Austrian Bundesliga with Sturm Graz and Serie A with Atalanta.
In August 2023, Manchester United signed the highly-rated Denmark striker from Atalanta in a deal worth £72million on a five-year contract.
Hojlund made his debut for Denmark in a Nations League match against Croatia in September 2022.
Standing over 6ft tall, Hojlund is a classic penalty-area poacher with an explosive left foot and searing pace.
Early career
After working his way through the FC Copenhagen youth set-up, Hojlund made his first-team debut in October 2020 when he was just 17.
After making five appearances in his breakthrough season, he became a regular member of the first-team squad in the 2021/22 season.
He scored his first goals for the club in the UEFA Conference League qualifiers and went on to net five goals in 27 appearances across all competitions before moving to Austrian side Sturm Graz in January 2022 for €1.95m.
Moving to Serie A
His nine goals in 18 Bundeliga games prompted Atalanta to sign him in August for €17.20m.
He began the 2022/23 season as a substitute for the side from Bergamo but later established himself in the team as a replacement for the injured Colombian striker Duvan Zapata.
He scored four goals in four games in January to cement a burgeoning reputation in Serie A, as the team went on to finish fifth and qualify for the Europa League.
He scored nine goals in 32 Serie A appearances for Atalanta in the 2022/23 season.
His boss at Atalanta, Gian Piero Gasperini, claimed the striker can run 100 metres in under 11 seconds.
"He has very similar characteristics to Haaland. He is so quick," said Gasperini.
"Considering his height, he has a low centre of gravity and can move his legs very fast. I am convinced he'll have a great career, he just gets stronger every day."
Joining Manchester United
United confirmed the signing of Hojlund on a five-year deal from Atalanta for a reported £72million on August 5, 2023.
The 20-year-old, who had scored 27 goals in 87 club appearances and netted six times in six appearances for Denmark, has an option for a further year which would take his Old Trafford stay to 2029.
"He is a real frontman," Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag said. "Very direct to the goal, very good presser, a physical presence.
"I think in the balance of this squad, we needed that, alongside (Marcus) Rashford, another player who is direct and can score a goal. That is all in his mind - he wants to score goals.
"I think he has huge potential. And now it's up to him first, to explore that and we will support him, all the coaches, the team, the team was waiting for a type like him. They will integrate him in the dressing room and in the pitch, they will help him.
Hojlund said: "It is no secret that I have been a fan of this great club since I was a small boy, and I dreamed of walking out at Old Trafford as a Manchester United player.
"I am incredibly excited by this opportunity to turn that dream into a reality, and I am determined to repay the faith that the club has shown in me.
"It is still early in my career, but I know that I am ready to make this step up and play with this group of world-class players.

International career with Denmark
Hojlund made his debut for Denmark in a Nations League match against Croatia in September 2022.
His first goals for Denmark came in a hat-trick against Finland in a Euro 2024 qualifying clash.
