Tottenham's Bryan Gil set to rekindle Spanish romance with loan move to Sevilla
Sevilla FC is close to securing a loan deal for Tottenham's Bryan Gil, as the young winger looks to rediscover his La Liga form.
The 21-year-old Spanish prodigy is expected to fly to Seville tomorrow, ahead of a move that could see him spend his second consecutive season on loan in Spain.
Former Sevilla starlet, Gil made 21 appearances for the Spanish club before joining Tottenham in 2021.
However, he has struggled to break into Antonio Conte's starting line-up, leading to rumours of a loan move back to Spain.
Multiple Spanish clubs, including Real Sociedad and Valencia, were linked with Gil in recent months. However, it was Argentine coach Jorge Sampaoli's personal touch that convinced the "Beetle of Barbate" to return to his former club.
Sevilla faces a difficult challenge as they fight to move clear of the relegation zone, but with few natural wingers available to Sampaoli, Gil's versatility and proven track record in La Liga could prove decisive in securing game time for the Nervionenses.
