Scotland forward Che Adams joins Italian club Torino after Southampton contract expires
Scotland international Che Adams has joined Serie A outfit Torino on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract with Southampton.
The 28-year-old, who was part of Scotland's Euro 2024 squad, has penned a three-year deal with the Turin club.
Adams scored 16 goals for Saints last season as they won promotion back to the Premier League but has turned now the offer of a new contract. He leaves St Mary's after scoring 49 goals in 191 games.
A club statement from Torino wished Adams a "warm welcome" to the Stadio Olimpico.
Meanwhile, Sunderland defender Dan Ballard has signed a new and improved contract to end speculation that he could leave the Championship club for the Premier League this summer.
The 24-year-old Northern Ireland international, who joined the Black Cats from Arsenal in July 2022, had three years to run on his existing deal, but has committed his future to the club until the end of the 2027-28 campaign.
Ballard, who last week underwent a minor procedure on a knee injury suffered during pre-season, told Sunderland's official website: "Sunderland gave me the opportunity to come and play in the Championship and I've really enjoyed my time here so far.
"When they came forward to talk about a new deal, it was the only thing I wanted to do, so I'm delighted to have signed it. I'm now looking forward to the season."
Elsewhere, Hull have signed right-back Cody Drameh on a three-year deal.
The 22-year-old joins the Tigers after leaving fellow Championship club Leeds, having been loaned out to Cardiff, Luton and Birmingham in recent seasons.
"It's been a bit unstable for me – I've been around a lot – so now to finally settle down in Hull, and hopefully do some big things with Hull, is really nice," Drameh told his new club's website.
Wales midfielder Ben Woodburn has signed a two-year contract with League Two club Salford.
The 24-year-old former Liverpool player, who spent the past two seasons at Preston, previously played under Salford co-owner Ryan Giggs at international level.
"He is obviously a legend in the game, we've got a good relationship, so that was definitely a pull to come here," Woodburn said of Giggs, according to Salford's website.
