Real Madrid unlikely to sign Kylian Mbappe in the summer, but could pursue him in 2024

Real Madrid are reportedly looking to make a big splash this summer with a potential signing of Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain.

Real Madrid's pursuit of Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham has been making headlines, with reports suggesting that the Spanish giants are in advanced talks with the German club for the transfer.
However, the latest news has shifted the focus to Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe.
Yesterday, reports surfaced that Real Madrid could make a move for Mbappe in addition to Bellingham in the upcoming summer transfer window. This rumour set the football world abuzz, but El Chiringuito's Josep Pedrerol has now refuted these claims.
According to Pedrerol, Los Blancos will not be negotiating with PSG this summer, and therefore, will not be signing Mbappe. The financial implications of the move could be a reason behind this decision, as bringing both Bellingham and Mbappe to the club could cost more than €250 million.
Moreover, Real Madrid have other positions that require more urgent signings, such as full-back and right-wing. Additionally, the decision of Eden Hazard to stay at the club could affect Real Madrid's planning for next season. As the team's highest earner, it may be challenging for the club to sign two players on high salaries while Hazard is still on the roster.
However, Real may still pursue Mbappe next year when Hazard's contract expires. If completed, the move would unite Mbappe with Bellingham, Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, and Eduardo Camavinga, setting up one of the most daunting young cores in world football.
Mbappe's stats this season have been impressive, with 24 goals and four assists in 30 Ligue 1 appearances. He also averages 1.6 key passes per game and has created 15 significant chances.
Although Real Madrid will likely not be signing Mbappe this summer, the prospect of bringing him to the club in the future remains a possibility.
