Ex-Norwich City striker Teemu Pukki completes transfer to MLS
Norwich City legend Teemu Pukki has officially joined Minnesota United on a two-year contract with an option of extending his stay.
Minnesota United have announced the signing of Norwich City legend Teemu Pukki on a two-year contract with an option of extending his stay.
Pukki, 33, will link up with the Loons in July and has put pen to paper on a deal that will keep him Stateside until June 2025.
The club has the option to extend his stay until December 2025 if the parties agree, meaning the Finnish striker could spend three seasons in MLS.
Minnesota head coach Adrian Heath said: "I feel as though we have gotten that goalscorer we have been craving… He's a proven goalscorer"
Pukki helped fire Norwich City to two Championship promotions and scored 88 goals while providing 29 assists for the club.
The Loons have been desperately short of goals since the departure of Christian Ramirez and look to have filled that void.
Speaking about the signing, technical director Mark Watson revealed that Pukki had offers from around the globe.
Minnesota United currently sits 12th in the Western Conference and are the join-third lowest scorer in the league.
