Aston Villa will attempt to pull off one of the ballsiest comebacks in Champions League history when they welcome PSG to Villa Park this Tuesday night (2000 GMT).

Villa’s fearless European campaign appears to be heading for its conclusion as the Premier League side look to overturn a 3-1 deficit against the indomitable French champions. Mission impossible? It appears so.

Unai Emery’s side dared to dream when they took a shock 1-0 lead away in Paris, with Morgan Rogers finishing a terrific Youri Tielemans pass.

It didn’t take long for Villa to have their feet dragged back to earth as PSG began to impose their dominance and inevitably seal a two-goal advantage ahead of the second leg.

Luis Enrique and his men are unlikely to rest on their laurels in this second leg as they look to send a statement to the rest of the competition.

The Parisians are currently second favourites to win the Champions League and getting a comfortable win over in Birmingham would only enhance their position.

PSG didn’t have any league duties at the weekend, meaning they will be fresh for this all-important second leg.

Villa, on the other hand, are coming into this game on the back of a 3-0 victory over Southampton. The journey down south probably took more out of them than the actual game, but that doesn’t change the fact that the Premier League side had less time to prepare.

Here, we take a closer look at Tuesday’s encounter and pick out some of the best bets along the way.

Good luck, and please gamble responsibly.

Aston Villa v PSG bet builder

Both teams to score – 1/2

    Over 2.5 goals – 4/7

Ousmane Dembele to score or assist – 10/11

    Emiliano Martinez +4 total saves – 4/5

    Both teams to score

We like the look of this bet, not only because it landed in the first leg but also due to the nature of this fixture.

We know that Aston Villa have nothing to lose, and you can bet your bottom dollar that Emery’s men will go on the offensive in search of goals.

The big worry for the hosts is the danger of opening themselves up. There are few better teams than PSG when it comes to opening their opponents up and taking full advantage of goalscoring opportunities.

PSG have scored 23 goals across their last seven matches, with five of those fixtures seeing the BTTS bet land.

Villa, meanwhile, have scored exactly three goals in five of their last seven encounters. They’ve also seen BTTS land in three of their previous six.

    Over 2.5 goals

On the subject of goals, we’re backing plenty of them. As previously mentioned, both teams are scoring for fun which should make for a juicy Villa Park encounter.

This bet has landed in Villa’s last seven games, including their 3-0 thrashing of Southampton last weekend. It has also landed in seven of PSG’s previous 10. Good sign.

Ousmane Dembele to score or assist

Ousmane Dembele got an assist in the first leg and enjoyed a tremendous performance, helping his side to a 3-1 win.

The Frenchman has scored seven goals in nine games, including a couple of strikes against Dunkerque in the French Cup at the start of the month.

Bearing all that in mind, we’re backing the forward to get on the scoresheet at Villa Park.

    Emiliano Martinez +4 total saves

Emiliano Martinez was certainly kept busy in the first leg, with PSG having a total of 29 shots and 10 on target.

Villa are expected to do a tad more attacking in the rematch, which should open things up a bit. That’s certainly bad news for Martinez who will have to face the force of a frightening PSG side.
