Marco Asensio still ‘very much’ open to have Real Madrid future
Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti said recently they will not sell anyone unless they ask to leave the club this winter, which apparently now leaves Marco Asensio's future up to himself.
The 26-year-old forward had planned on leaving the club after contract negotiations stalled during the last transfer window, plus at the time he felt his future was elsewhere due to lack of game time at Los Blancos.
Since then, matters have improved though especially after Real coach Ancelotti challenged Asensio to up his game performances to play more.
Asensio duly obliged by scoring against Leipzig in the Champions League group stage clash in September and has since gone on to see more game time, which has seen him contributing directly to five more goals.
The forward now appears to have done a complete U-turn on wanting to leave Madrid.
"There is talk that I am changing Real Madrid's mind. But I have always tried to give the best that I have within me, and then later on people will be know about it," Asensio said to RadioMarca.
"The one who decides, too, is the club, it does not only depend on me. After the World Cup We'll both make a decision."
With his contract coming to an end next summer, not much has been said recently of Asensio's potential departure by the club or player.
"Do I want to renew? Hopefully it can happen and I'll be very happy at Real Madrid for many years, hopefully everything will work out so I can stay for 10 more years," Asensio said.
