Leeds United news: Alexander Nubel latest, Junior Firpo interest and Joaquin Piquerez update

Planet Sport looks at some of the transfer rumours surrounding Leeds United.

With only a couple of weeks until their Championship campaign begins, Leeds United are still looking to strengthen.

The summer transfer window so far has been one of many departures rather than incomings.
However, with the takeover now given the green light, Daniel Farke can look to add to his squad as Planet Sport looks at the latest transfer news.

Bayern to make decision on Nubel

Leeds have targeted Alexander Nubel as a potential number one goalkeeper for next season.
Nubel joined Monaco on loan for two years in 2021 but has now returned to his parent club Bayern ahead of the 2023/24 season.

According to Sky Germany though, Leeds only have 48 hours to make an offer as the Bundesliga champions want to resolve Nubel's situation as soon as possible.

Fellow German side Stuttgart made a loan bid for the 26-year-old, but Bayern have yet to respond to the offer.
Leeds have already lost goalkeeper Joel Robles after his deal expired this summer and he confirmed he would not be re-signing for the club.

Firpo attracting interest

Junior Firpo's time at Leeds has not been very successful as the club are rumoured to want to sell the left-back this summer.
The club have struggled to generate any interest in his services but media outlet Ok Fichajes have reported that three Spanish clubs are considering a move for him.
Osasuna, Celta Vigo and Real Sociedad are the clubs named as Firpo has reportedly discussed his desire to return to Spain.
Firpo joined Leeds from Barcelona back in 2021 for a fee of around £13m and has since made over 50 appearances for the club.

Piquerez targeted by Leeds

Leeds have identified Joaquin Piquerez as a possible first choice left-back for the upcoming season.
The 24-year-old currently plays for Brazilian side Palmeiras and has earned nine caps for the Uruguay national team, most recently coming under the tutelage of former Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa.
Brazilian journalist Diego Firmino reported the rumour, suggesting that no formal approach has been made yet but expects there will be one in the coming days.
With Firpo possibly set to leave, it is expected Leeds will sign a left-back this summer as their only other option Stuart Dallas has only just returned from a major injury.
