Borussia Dortmund striker Karim Adeyemi disappointed to miss out on hat-trick
Borussia Dortmund striker Karim Adeyemi cut a visibly dejected figure after failing to complete his hat-trick from the penalty spot in the 6-0 win over Wolfsburg.
Borussia Dortmund striker Karim Adeyemi expressed disappointment with being unable to complete his hat-trick from the penalty spot in the 6-0 win over Wolfsburg.
Ademeyi and English starlet Jude Bellingham grabbed braces, while Sebastian Haller and Donyell Malen also got on the scoresheet as the Black and Yellow kept up the pressure on Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich.
Adeyemi had the chance to complete his hat-trick from the penalty spot but spurned the opportunity and the 22-year-old looked visibly upset afterwards..
"First of all, it's about the team and we won. But I was very upset for myself that I couldn't score a third goal," Adeyemi admitted, as quoted by Kicker.
Dortmund coach Edin Terzic was full of praise for Adeyemi despite the missed penalty.
"If you saw Karim today, he had maybe 50 or 100 actions and 49 or 99 of them were positive. Maybe he wanted to score a third goal a little bit too much. But the rest was extraordinary. Not just his goals, but the way he accelerates, how difficult it is to defend him one-on-one. That's what we want to see from him and then we forgive him for the penalty kick," said Terzic.
