Arsenal close in on third winter signing as Chelsea accept deadline day bid for Jorginho
Arsenal are set to complete their third deal of the winter window after reaching an agreement with Chelsea for Italy international Jorginho.
The Gunners, who are desperate to strengthen in midfield for the second half of the season, had their £12m bid accepted by the Blues.
Jorginho is now set to complete his medical at Arsenal's London Colney training base as he prepares to finalise his move.
The 31-year-old has been offered a one-and-a-half-year deal to join Chelsea's fierce rivals.
Jorginho has enjoyed a successful four-and-a-half-year spell at Stamford Bridge where he racked up 213 appearances across all competitions and also scored 29 goals.
The midfielder won the Champions League, Europa League, UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup during his time with the club.
However, Jorginho never tasted domestic success, falling short in three FA Cup finals and two EFL Cup finals.
Nevertheless, Jorginho will have a golden opportunity to become a Premier League winner as he prepares to join a club which currently sits top of the standings.
Arsenal are in the midst of a long-awaited title challenge, with Mikel Arteta's side sitting five-points ahead of defending champions Manchester City.
