Ange Postecoglou: I love Son Heung-min's ambition to become Spurs all-time great

Ange Postecoglou is full of respect for Tottenham captain Son Heung-Min aspiring to go down as one of the all-time greats of the club.

South Korean star Son grabbed two goals as Spurs romped to a 4-0 victory over Everton in their first home match of the season.

The 32-year-old robbed Toffees goalkeeper Jordan Pickford for his first and then buried a low shot under the England number one to complete the scoring.

Son, approaching his 10-year anniversary in north London, had earlier in the week revealed his desire to be considered a legend at the club.

"There's no sort of set criteria for that stuff," said boss Postecoglou. "But I've got no doubt that whenever he's done and dusted — and it's hopefully a long way down the track — he will be in esteemed company at this football club.

"I love the fact that he's still motivated to do more. That's the key thing for us. He was really good.

"It's the reason I put him in the middle because we know Jordan (Pickford) is a big part of their build-up play, and they use him a lot. And Sonny's the best presser that we have in the front there, he's unbelievable.

"I think he relished that role and again showed his threat when he went out on the left with that great finish."

Yves Bissouma, back in the team following a suspension for taking laughing gas, opened the scoring with a 20-yard screamer, his first goal for the club.

Cristian Romero, on his 100th Spurs appearance, headed the third before Son finished from Micky van de Ven's lung-busting run forward.

Everton have now conceded seven goals without reply in two comprehensive defeats this season.

Injuries and suspension forced boss Sean Dyche to hand a debut to 19-year-old Roman Dixon at right-back.

"I thought young Roman did terrific," said Dyche. "It was a tough game for him but he stuck to task. The players we're bringing in are developing players, they're not the real deal like they're bringing in at Tottenham.

"But there's still a group there that I expect more from and I said that to them afterwards."
