Archer Penny Healey secures Paris Olympics place for Great Britain with European Games gold
Great Britain are guaranteed a place in the individual recurve section of the archery at the Paris Olympics after Penny Healey won the gold medal at the European Games.
Great Britain's Penny Healey claimed archery gold at the European Games in Poland to secure her country a women's individual recurve spot for next year's Paris Olympics.
Healey was crowned champion with a 6-2 victory over Spaniard Elia Canales in the final in Krakow.
She said in quotes on archerygb.org: "This win means a lot. Before this week my Nan died, so I wanted to dedicate anything I did to her and I wanted to do the best I could."
There was also a silver medal for Healey's compatriot Ella Gibson in the women's individual compound competition, being beaten in the final by Italy's Elisa Roner 145-139.
Meanwhile, Grace Reid earned a bronze medal for GB in the women's 1m springboard final.
That added to her mixed 3m synchro silver and took Britain to a total of seven diving medals at the Games.
