F1 veteran Fernando Alonso has supreme confidence in the Aston Martin project

Fernando Alonso

Fernando Alonso is brimming with confidence at Aston Martin.

Fernando Alonso expressed that the Aston Martin project has instilled more confidence in him than any other team throughout his career.
Despite the two-time F1 world champion's stints with Renault, Ferrari, and McLaren, Alonso believes that Aston Martin has managed to inspire him like no other.
In the recent Canadian Grand Prix, Alonso secured his sixth podium finish of the 2023 season. This achievement is twice the number of top-three results he attained in his previous seven full-time seasons in F1.
Although he finished second, trailing the dominant winner Max Verstappen by 9.57 seconds, Alonso successfully held off Lewis Hamilton in the final stint, keeping him outside the DRS range.
According to Alonso, this showcased Aston Martin's most competitive race of the year, as they were able to match Red Bull's pace for most of the event.
These performances have significantly boosted Alonso's confidence in the Aston Martin project, surpassing any other endeavour he has experienced in his career as a 32-time Grand Prix winner and double Le Mans 24 Hours victor.
"Everything is good," Alonso told Sky Sports.
"To be honest, I cannot think of another time in my career that I was this confident with a team and with a project itself.
"Because it's more into a medium-, long-term project, I don't know if I will be driving. I always have in my mind that yes, because as long as I feel fast, and I still enjoy why will I stop? But at the moment, I'm enjoying."
