Yarmouth racing tip: Tarbaan ready to convert recent promise into first season success

The four places available for this 11-runner handicap has sent Tipstrr’s each-way aficionados poring over their form books to pick out their best value bet from this competitive field.

17:10 Yarmouth: EAAA East Coast Air Ambulance Handicap (1 mile 2 furlongs)

Battista looks like being sent off as the firm favourite here, and after winning at Wolverhampton in July and then defying heavy ground a a poor break to come second at Sandown last-time out, he looks ready to step up to this longer trip.

Leader of the challenging pack would appear to be the -in-form Panning For Gold, who strung three back-to-back wins together in mid-summer and bounced back from a subsequent hiccup to win impressively when last seen  at Southwell 30 days ago.

Further out in the betting, Queen’s Company’s three career wins have all come at this venue, including last time out a month ago, but it is the Amy Murphy-trained Tarbaan who has received the consensual nod within the Tipstrr camp.

Although winless in nine outings since landing the third of his career successes at Wolverhampton last December, this four-year-old gelding has been progressing nicely through the summer to build up a profile of solid consistency.

Three straight frame finishes over the last month culminated at Ripon three weeks ago, when he was backed into favourite before running on gamely to finish a never-nearer third behind Bollin Margaret.

He reunites here with Kevin Stott, who piloted him to third place at Newmarket three races ago, and who rarely visits the East Anglian course, despite winning two of just nine rides here over the last five years.

Suggested bet: Tarbaan each-way in the 17:10 at Yarmouth
