Musselburgh racing tips: Best bets for Saturday, September 16

15:42 (Musselburgh) War Defender

War Defender maintains smart place form with a Doncaster third preceding a second here n this handicap grade last month.

Chinese Spirit found success attempting a course and distance handicap by a neck at this level before a Hamilton third eleven days ago and is the main danger.

Cosa Sara ran well at Carlisle when a strong third among this handicap company tackling a similar trip and is in the mix.

 

17:25 (Musselburgh) Dianara

Dianara produced a good fourth on debut in a 7f maiden at Deauville. Form has worked out well and an improvement is likely.

Asteverdi improved second up when a solid third in a maiden at Epsom attempting this journey and should be respected.

 

18:35 (Musselburgh) Marbuzet

Marbuzet maintains a consistent profile in recent months. The four-year-old scored by a neck attempting this handicap class at Carlisle and rates a leading contender set to follow up.

Bobby Shaftoe ran well in the same race finishing a solid third last week. Back up in trip and may go close again.

Trailblazer holds good placed form including a course runner-up effort before a Newcastle third last week and is appealing.

 

19:10 (Musselburgh) Ski Angel

Ski Angel found success at Ayr two starts back by tackling this handicap grade and trip on soft ground.

Fair fourth since under the same conditions and rates a serious player.

The Grey Lass showed plenty of ability when a head second attempting a course and distance handicap.

Aconcagua Mountain produced a decent fourth among this handicap company at Newcastle on Monday and shouldn't be ruled out.
