Jedd O’Keefe’s colt has improved with each run thus far, finishing eight at Doncaster, fifth at Ripon and third at Musselburgh.

State of Desire, saddled by Charlie Appleby and ridden by William Buick, looks a likely challenger having threatened the frame on a regular basis.

He showed a marked improvement between the first and second run and went off a 7/4 favourite last time out at Sandown having been caught further back than ideal.

Sea the Dream was edged out near the line at Haydock in July before finishing just a few lengths off the pace at Newcastle last time out.

The step up in trip is expected to suit Charming Whisper who came from nowhere to win at 50/1 at Yarmouth before coping fairly well with a penalty there last time out.

Doddies Impact and Swift Salian are battling it out at the bottom of the market, but at the time of writing, they’re just 8/1. It’s impossible to discount any of the six runners.

But it is worth noting that there is just one course winner in the field and that’s Doddies Impact. That experience should help as he makes the step up in trip.
