PRINCE CARLOS (8) missed the placings two runs back then did well last start but found one better over 7f at Tamworth, beaten only 1.1 lengths. This looks a sterner test than last time but on his best form he is capable of testing his rivals. STAR INTRIGUE (2) has returned in good order this campaign. Collected his maiden win when resuming at Bathurst then backed it up with a solid third over 1m at Dubbo at the latest outing. Has the gate speed to take up a forward position. Best form puts him right in this. INTERVENTIONIST (1) improved sharply on his ninth two starts back at Coonamble with a win over 1m at Wagga two-and-a-half weeks ago, getting home by one length after being in contention on the turn. Nicely placed to keep the ball rolling. AVALICIOUS (4) turned things around last start and scored by half a length over 1m at Dubbo. Likely to be there at the finish again.
