NEWFOUNDLAND (3) has returned in good shape this campaign. Opened with a third at Canterbury two starts back then landed the prize by 2.25 lengths as favourite last time out over 1m4f at Rosehill. Tim Clark scored on him last time and retains the mount. Has his share of talent. Hard to beat in this suitable race. AHURIRI (4) did little and finished 12 lengths from the winner in ninth over 1m2 3/4f at this track last start after being in the firing line on the corner, a less impressive effort than her when resuming sixth at Randwick Kensington the run before. Has her share of ability. Hard to beat in this suitable race. TAJANIS (7) finished 3.5 lengths away in fourth last time out over 1m2 1/2f at Benalla two-and-a-half weeks ago. Steps up in distance. Will find this much tougher but can measure up. FRETTA (8) finished 3.5 lengths adrift in sixth last time over 1m4 3/4f at Flemington in a disappointing performance. Likely improver with top-three prospects.
