SHADOW DANE (2) started at 9/2 last time and ran below expectations, finishing sixth and beaten 2 lengths at Canberra over 6½f. Stepping up a level this time but on his best form he is one of the key runners. VANCOUVER ROCKS (4) broke her maiden last start over 7f at Wodonga, scoring by 2.25 lengths. Connor Murtagh was in the saddle on that occasion and retains the ride. Nicely placed to double the win tally. HALKIS (8) broke through for her maiden win last start by a head over 7f at Sapphire Coast despite being unwanted in betting. Is lightly raced and has plenty of scope for improvement. Looks well placed and she is worth including. WASHINGTON (10) accounted for a maiden field over 7f at Tumut last start, finishing 0.6 lengths ahead of the nearest rival. Harder here but should be involved in the finish.
