BAY EMPIRE (3) is back after a break of three-and-a-half months. At the last run before the layoff he finished sixth over 7¼f at Turffontein Inside. Has ability and is a solid chance. CALIDA (10) is poised to win after placing at his last three outings, most recently when third over 7f at this track. Tackling a deeper field this time but he is up to the task. MUTARAZI (9) resumed a week-and-a-half ago over 7f at Turffontein Standside and was only beaten 1.75 lengths into fourth. Fitter so a likely improver.
