THE OCTAGON (1) is racing well and is close to a win, the latest effort a solid third at Greyville All Weather over 1m. Has the pace to take a forward position. Finds a tougher race but another big run is on the cards. CLIFFIE CLAVIN (4) is a three-start maiden who finished fourth at his most recent appearance over 7½f at this track. Among the top chances in what looks a most suitable race. OBSIDIAN (5) has not raced since his debut back on July 27 when he finished fifth over 5¾f at Turffontein Standside. Plenty of scope for improvement. JABBERWOCKY (3) resumes from a lay-off of six-and-a-half months. Could only manage to finish seventh at the latest run over 1m at Vaal. Has ability so don't underestimate.
