LAKE VARNA (8) is a six-start maiden who finished seventh after being in the firing line on the turn at her most recent appearance over 6¼f at Cairns. Among the top chances in what looks a most suitable race. LOVES AFFECTION (10) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start when she was never in contention over 6f at Warracknabeal, beaten 9 lengths into seventh. Finds a nice race and can feature in the finish. THREEBROTHERS (3) returns after eight months in the paddock. Closed the last campaign with a sixth over 4¾f at Cairns. Rates highly on best form and should be in the mix.
