MARKDEL (2) resumes from a lay-off of four-and-a-half months. Could only manage to finish fourth at the latest run over 6f at Flemington. Tuned up with a seventh in a recent trial at Cranbourne. Rates on top and is a great chance to break through. CONTINENTAL KISS (8) has not raced since her debut on February 17 over 5½f in the LR Talindert Stakes at Flemington when she finished eighth, beaten 5.5 lengths. Expected to improve and will pay to follow up. BETWITCHERY (7) did a fair job on debut last time out, finishing 1.5 lengths from the winner in third over 5f at Ballarat. Must be included among the main hopes. TORONESS (13) was in the firing line on the bend and finished second last start at the first run back from a lay-off over 5f at Echuca, beaten 1.5 lengths. This looks a sterner test than last time but on her best form she is one of the chief contenders.
